A classic using BAKERS Blue Label® Marie biscuits.  These ever versatile biscuits take yet another form as these delicious Date Fingers.

Makes about 18

 

ingredients

1 x 200 g packet of BAKERS Blue Label® Marie biscuits

200 g butter

125 ml sugar

250 g chopped pitted dates

10 ml vanilla essence

desicated coconut for sprinkling

 

instructions

  1. Break the BAKERS Blue Label® Marie biscuits into small pieces. Place in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Combine the butter, sugar and dates in a saucepan and heat until the butter has melted. Stir in the vanilla essence.
  3. Add the butter mixture to the biscuits and mix well. Spoon into a greased 20 cm square dish and press down firmly.
  4. Sprinkle coconut over and place in fridge to chill before cutting.

10 ml vanieljegeursel

klapper om bo-oor te strooi

 

instruksies

  1. Breek die BAKERS Blue Label® Marie beskuitjies in klein stukkies, plaas in ’n mengbak en sit dit eenkant.
  2. Plaas die botter, suiker en dadels saam in ’n kastrol en verhit tot die botter gesmelt is. Voeg die vanielje by en giet die mengsel oor die beskuitjiestukkies.
  3. Meng goed en skep in ’n vierkantige 20-cm bak. Druk die mengsel stewig vas in die bak. Strooi die klapper oor en verkil tot ferm.
  4. Sny in vingers en dien op.

  3. Engeza inhlanganiselo emabhisikidini uhlanganise kahle. Faka inhlanganisela endishini (isikwele sa 20cm) eligcotshiswe ngamafutha elingena kuhovini uyi hlohle phansi kakhle.
  4. Fafaza ukhokhonathi ngaphezulu ufake efrijini iphole phambi kokhuti isikwe.
