GARLIC & OLIVE PIZZA SQUARES

Make a deliciously cheesy and aromatic meal or snack with this truly ‘bellissimo’ pizza recipe with an exciting secret ingredient: BAKERS Provita® Crispbread!

Makes 12 – 16

ingredients

65 g (¼ pack) BAKERS Provita® Crispbread

½ x 10 g packet instant dried yeast

15 ml sugar

5 ml salt

165 ml water, warm but not boiling

15 ml olive oil

375 ml cake flour

125 ml tomato sauce

15 ml dried oregano

20 – 45 ml finely chopped garlic

325 ml grated mozzarella cheese

125 ml freshly grated parmesan cheese

250 ml black olives, stoned and coarsely chopped

finely chopped parsley

milled black pepper

instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 190 ºC
  2. Place the BAKERS Provita® Crispbread in a processor and process into fine crumbs. Set aside until required.
  3. Place the yeast, sugar, salt, warm water and oil in a bowl and whisk to dissolve the yeast and sugar. Tip in the flour, salt and BAKERS Provita® Crispbread crumbs and mix well. Knead lightly for 5 – 6 minutes or until the dough becomes smooth and a stretchy. You may need extra lukewarm water or flour to create a yielding, pliable consistency.
  4. Place the dough in a clean, oiled bowl and cover. Place in a warm spot to rise then knock the air out of the dough and knead again briefly. Roll the dough out thinly into an oblong shape. Transfer to a greased baking sheet.
  5. Bake the pizza base without any topping in the oven for 8 – 10 minutes or until crisp and golden. Remove from oven and allow to cool down on the baking sheet.
  6. Once you have removed the pizza base from the oven, increse the temprature to 230 ºC.
  7. Combine the tomato sauce, oregano and garlic and spread over the pizza base.
  8. Sprinkle mozzarella and parmesan over pizza and dot with the olives and  parsley. Season well.
  9. Return to oven (pre-heated to 230 ºC) for 4 – 5 minutes or until the cheese is hot and bubbly. Remove from the oven, slice into squares and serve.

  1. Faka amaBAKERS Provita® Crispbread kumushini wokugaya ugaye kubeizimvuthu. Beka eceleni.
  2. Faka isibiliso, ushukela, amanzi afudumele namafutha endishini uhlanganise kuhlangane.
  3. Faka ufulawa , usawoti nemvuthu uhlanganise kahle. Xova kncane amaminithi awu 5 – 6 noma izeinhlama idonseke.
  4. Ungase udinge amanzi amancane afudumele noma ufulawa oncane mawu xova inhlama. Beka inhlama yako endishini egcotshiwe amafutha umboze. Beka endaweni efudumele kona inhlama izokukumala. Umausu bona inhlama ikukumala xova futhi ukukepa umonya.
  5. Songa inhlama ibe isimo esinguxande. Ubese uyifaka kwidishi lokubhaka. Bhaka ibase yepizza ungazifaki izithako zangaphezulu kuhovini ofudumwzwe ngokushisa osezingeni la 190 amaminithi awu 8 kuya ku 10.
  6. Susa ku hovini uyilinde iphole kwishidi lokubhaka. Ngaphambi kokuphaka,hlanganisa itomato sauce,oregano no garlic ubese uyisakaza phezu kwe pizza base.
