These beautiful tarts using BAKERS Nuttikrust® biscuits are as delightful to look at as they are to eat! Decorate with whipped cream and chopped glacé fruit.

12 BAKERS Nuttikrust® biscuits

3 large egg whites

250 ml sugar

50 g walnuts, coarsely chopped

5 ml baking powder

whipped fresh cream and chopped glacé fruit for decorating

 

instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 100 °C.
  2. Break the BAKERS Nuttikrust® biscuits into small pieces and set aside. Beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Add the sugar gradually, beating after each addition. Continue beating until the mixture is thick and glossy.
  3. Fold in the biscuit pieces, nuts and baking powder.
  4. Line a large baking sheet with baking paper and place spoonfuls of the mixture onto the paper, about 1 cm apart.
  5. Bake on the middle rack  for 45 minutes to an hour or until light and crisp. Turn the heat off and leave the tarts in the oven, with the door slightly open, for a further 30 minutes.
  6. Remove from oven and allow to cool down completely. To serve, decorate with fresh whipped cream and chopped glacé fruit.

3 groot eierwitte

250 ml suiker

50 g gekapte okkerneute

5 ml bakpoeier

geklopte room en gekapte geglaseerde vrugte

  1. Breek die BAKERS Nuttikrust® beskuitjies in klein stukkies en sit eenkant. Klits die eierwitte tot sagte punte. Voeg die suiker geleidelik by en klits na elke byvoeging.
  2. Klits totdat die mengsel dik en blink is. Vou die beskuitjiestukke, neute en bakpoeier in. Voer ’n groot bakplaat met bakpapier uit en skep lepelsvol van die mengsel op die papier ongeveer 5 cm van mekaar af.
  3. Bak op die middelste rak van ’n voorverhitte oond teen 100 °C vir 45 minute tot ’n uur, of tot gaar. Sit die oond af en los die tertjies in die oond vir ’n verdere 30 minute met die oond se deur effens oop. Haal die tertjies dan uit en laat heeltemal afkoel op ’n draadrak.
  4. Versier met geklopte room en gekapte geglaseerde vrugte en bedien.

  3. Bhaka kuhovini phakathi nedawo, uhovini kufuneka ubesebangeni eliyikhulu (100 °C) amaminithi awu 45 noma ihora kuze kuphekeke. Cima umlilo uvule umnyango wohovini, ushiye izibiliboco sephestri ngaphakati amaminithi awu 30.
  4. Susa kuhovini uvumele kuphole ngokupheleleyo. Ma usuzo phaka hlobisa ngokhilimu ophehliwe nesithelo esiglaced.
