PEACHES BAKED WITH NUTTY CRUMBLE

This buttery, warm, baked dessert uses BAKERS Eet-Sum-Mor® biscuits to create a light and delightful fruity after dinner treat.

Serves 4 – 6

 

ingredients

1 x 200 g packet of BAKERS Eet-Sum-Mor® biscuits

100 g skinned almonds, lightly toasted and chopped

65 ml melted butter

2 x 410 g cans peach slices in their own juice

65 ml Amaretto or 5 ml almond essence

hints

If you want a change, substitute the BAKERS Eet-Sum-Mor® biscuits with BAKERS Ginger Nuts® and the almond liqueur or essence with ginger brandy or 5 ml grated fresh gingerroot. It makes a deliciously warming winter dessert.

 

instructions

  1. Pre-heat oven to 180 oC.
  2. BAKERS Eet-Sum-Mor® biscuits coarsely and combine with the nuts and butter.  Set aside.
  3. Place the peaches with their juice in a saucepan and cook rapidly without a lid until the sauce has reduced to your liking.
  4. Stir in the Amaretto or almond essence and transfer to a greased oven-safe dish. Sprinkle with the biscuit mixture and bake in the oven for 10 minutes. Serve with cream or ice cream.

  1. Breek die BAKERS Eet-Sum-Mor® beskuitjies in stukkies en meng met die amandels en botter. Hou eenkant. Verhit die perskes met stroop en al. Laat dit vinnig kook sonder ’n deksel totdat die sous genoeg verdamp het om lekker dik te word.
  2. Roer die Amaretto of geursel by en skep dit in ’n gesmeerde oondvaste bak. Besprinkel met die beskuitjiemengsel. Bak in ’n voorverhitte oond teen 180 oC vir 10 minute. Bedien saam met room of roomys.
  3. NS: Vir ietsie anders – vervang die BAKERS Eet-Sum-Mor® beskuitjies met BAKERS Ginger Nuts® en die Amaretto met gemmerbrandewyn of 5 ml gerasperde vars gemmerwortel. Hierdie is ’n heerlike warm winterspoeding!
