RICH CHOCOLATE TARTE


about

Bake this deliciously sweet and decadent tart using BAKERS Blue Label® Marie biscuits and make any chocolate lovers dreams come true. Serve with fresh whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream.

Serves 6 – 8

 

 

 

ingredients

1 x 200 g packet of BAKERS Blue Label® Marie biscuits

45 ml cocoa

150 ml castor sugar

150 ml melted butter

3 medium eggs

125 ml fresh cream

400 g melted dark chocolate

10 ml vanilla essence

cocoa powder (extra)

orange zest and chocolate-dipped orange segments

 

 

 

instructions

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180oC.
  2. Place the BAKERS Blue Label® Marie biscuits in a processor together with the cocoa and half the castor sugar and process to fine crumbs. Add the melted butter and pulse until combined. Push the mixture into the bottom and sides of a greased 28 cm loose-bottomed flan ring.
  3. Beat the eggs and remaining castor sugar until thick and pale. Mix in the cream, chocolate and vanilla essence.
  4. Pour mixture into the crust and bake in the oven  for 25 – 30 minutes or until set. Remove from oven and set aside to cool.
  5. To serve, remove tart from ring, transfer to a serving plate and dust the top with the extra cocoa powder. Garnish with orange zest and chocolate-dipped orange segments.

125 ml room

400 g gesmelte donkersjokolade

10 ml vanieljegeursel

ekstra kakaopoeier

fyn repies lemoenskil en lemoenskyfies, gedoop in sjokolade

  1. Verkrummel die BAKERS Blue Label® Marie beskuitjies in ’n voedselverwerker en voeg die kakaopoeier en helfte van die strooisuiker by. Voeg die gesmelte botter by en verwerk tot goed gemeng. Druk die mengsel op die boom en teen die kante van ’n gesmeerde 28 cm-deursnee losboom randkoekpan vas.
  2. Klits die eiers en orige strooisuiker saam tot lig van kleur. Meng die room, sjokolade en vanielje by. Giet die mengsel in die kors.
  3. Bak in ’n voorverhitte oond teen 180 oC vir 25 – 30 minute of totdat die vulsel net-net gestol is. Verwyder uit die oond en laat afkoel.
  4. Verwyder die tert uit die pan en plaas op ’n bord. Strooi die ekstra kakaopoeier bo-oor en versier met die lemoenskil en lemoenskyfies wat in sjokolade gedoop is.
